Rod Carr and Nick Bitel have been appointed as the new chairs of UK Sport and Sport England respectively.
Rod Carr CBE replaces Baroness Sue Campbell at UK Sport – the agency which focuses on elite performance.
Carr was chief executive of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) from 2000 until 2010.
He oversaw the RYA's World Class Performance Programme which developed Britain into an effective elite performance unit.
He was also Team GB's deputy chef de mission at the Sydney Olympics and has been involved in eight Olympic Games.
Meanwhile at the grassroots end, London Marathon chief executive Nick Bitel is becoming chair of Sport England.
Nick has been CEO at London Marathon since 1995 and is a board member for UK Sport and the Olympic Park Legacy Company.
He is well known for his commercial acumen and legal expertise within the sport sector.
