Mayor of London’s funding for free sports activities opens

The latest round of the FreeSport small grant scheme has opened, enabling community organisations to apply for grants of up to £1,500.

The fund is aimed at youth groups and other community organisations who run, or want to run, free sporting activities for Londoners which encourage more people to take part in sport.

The FreeSport programme is part of the Mayor’s Sports Legacy Programme and helps around 15,000 Londoners each year, with more than two thirds of these receiving over six hours of free sessions from qualified coaches.

The deadline for applications is noon on 30 May.
