Each year at least 1,000 sport and recreation participants – mainly coaches, officials and volunteers – find themselves in a Civil Court needing to defend against allegations of negligence and claims for compensation.
The extent to which they are successful in defending their actions almost always depends on the training and guidance they have received.
Much of this is provided by, or via, their governing body or national association.
To bring this guidance to life, Sport and Recreation Alliance venture partner Perkins Slade has teamed up with law firm Berrymans Lace Mawer to provide a free mock public liability trial event on 27 February at Edgbaston Stadium.
This free event will take you through the general scenarios, highlight the importance of documents and witness evidence in practice, provide you with an understanding of the procedures that you must have in place as well as the effect of your insurance cover.
