General election 2015 – what does sport and recreation need from government to thrive?

The Sport and Recreation Alliance is consulting its members to gather a convincing manifesto for sport and recreation in time for the 2015 general election.

A manifesto is a political party's plan for government which lays out what will happen should their party be elected.

Before the 2015 general election, the Alliance wants to send a concise, clear and positive message to all political parties about what how sport and recreation can act as a vital policy tool.

With this in mind, the Alliance welcomes input from its members which demonstrates the positive impact sport and recreation has on society.

The aim of the Alliance’s manifesto is to persuade government of the need for long term decision-making and joined-up thinking for sport and recreation – as well as to establish the preventative role physical activity can play in tackling public health problems as well as crime and education.

This is an ongoing process of which you will hear more, however the Alliance welcomes any feedback or suggestions you have today – so get in touch.
