We run a wide range of events, training and learning opportunities across the year. They are open to members and non-members alike.

Annual Conference: The Social Impact of Sport and Recreation and AGM - 25 September 2019

Sport and recreation can change lives and bring communities together. Our annual conference will be looking at how the sector can play a mainstream role in delivering social policy aims. Sporting Futures identifies these as: physical and mental wellbeing, individual development, social and community development and economic development. 

Each member organisation receives one free place to attend, which includes lunch with our President, His Royal Highness, The Earl of Wessex. If you wish for more than one person in your organisation to attend, additional member tickets will be available.

Fit for the Future Convention- 28 - 29 January 2020

For the third year in a row, this popular event will take place in Loughborough. The Fit for the Future Convention provides you with the chance to learn, network, debate and discuss with peers from the sector.

The event provides a full day’s content with networking opportunities throughout the day and over dinner.

Community Sport and Recreation Awards Ceremony- March 2020

For over 20 years, the Community Sport and Recreation Awards have been showcasing the positive impact of grassroots sport in local communities up and down the country.

These annual awards recognise the programmes and initiatives associated with our members and help to raise awareness of the value of grassroots sports and recreation in the UK.

Interested in entering our awards for next year? Entries will open on 25 September 2019.


Governance Training Programme (GTP)- All year

This programme will run across the whole year and will include a series of workshops and webinars which will focus on how you can improve governance practices within your organisation.

The programme will draw upon The Principles of Good Governance for Sport and Recreation and will include:

The GTP will take place in various locations across England and you can access our webinars online. We will continue to add more training opportunities in the areas which you have identified as important to you and your organisation.

Members can access workshops at significantly reduced rates and webinars are free. Full details of all the training opportunities are available here.


Summit Series- All year

Our  Summit Series is a new roundtable discussion bringing likeminded people from across the sector together to discuss policies and issues. There will be 5 events as part of the Summit Series, which will be free to attend for Alliance members. We have chosen the topics based on your feedback over the past year; however, if you have a burning issue that is not listed below, and you would like it to be considered for a future Summit Series, please let us know.

Each Summit Series will take place from 10:00am-1:30pm and will include a working lunch. We are pleased to have the Summit Series hosted by Saffery Champness.
