Spirit of Sport and Recreation Award 2023

Kelly and Sandi ()

Each year as part of our Annual General Meeting, the Sport and Recreation Alliance recognises the incredible achievements of an individual who has made a long-standing and notable contribution to our sector.

Our President, HRH, The Earl of Wessex will be on hand to host and to congratulate our winner on the day.

Nominations are now open for the 2023 Spirit of Sport and Recreation Award, and we would encourage you to submit your nomination at your earliest convenience.

Formerly the Emeritus Award, for more than 10 years, it has recognised volunteers in our sector who have dedicated their lives to helping to get the nation active.

Volunteers who, for many decades, have been the basis for the great successes and experiences that we’ve had in sport and recreation, be that in our parks, on our streets or in our stadiums. This includes those who have supported the Alliance with its work over many years, helping the organisation and its members to seize opportunities and tackle challenges.

Previous winners of the award include Sir Hugh Robertson KCMG MP, Dame Diana Ellis, and Dame Mary Peters CH DBE, as well as last year’s winner, LTA President Sandi Procter.

We are happy to accept repeat nominations from previous years and if your organisation is a member of the Sport and Recreation Alliance, we want to hear from you! As part of this process, we will also need the endorsement of your National Governing Body (or equivalent).

Please complete the form below to submit a nomination. If you need any assistance with filling in the form, or have any questions, please contact membership@sportandrecreation.org.uk.
