With more awards than ever before, this is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the nation’s best sporting initiatives for their achievements in areas such as sustainability, mental health and volunteering.
Our awards programme has been running for more than 25 years, celebrating the full breadth and power of sport and recreation, from table tennis projects and football clubs to rowing charities and climbing centres.
The awards are free and easy to enter and we are keen to hear about projects and initiatives that work with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
This year, there are eight categories in which you can enter, with each winning project picking up a £1,000 prize, presented by HRH, The Earl of Wessex at an awards ceremony in March next year. The eight categories are:
- Youth Development Award
- Community Club of the Year
- Going Green Award
- Mental Health and Wellbeing Award
- Diversity and Inclusion Award
- Inspiration of the Year
- Resilience in Adversity Award
- Volunteer of the Year
The prize money has helped our previous winners to grow and sustain their initiatives by providing them with additional financial resource to purchase new kit and equipment, keep their facilities open for longer and provide coaching qualifications to develop their volunteers.
Here, 2021 Diversity and Inclusion Award winners, Synergy Dance Outreach, explain what winning an award has meant for them and why everyone should enter.
You can view all of our winners from the last six years on our alumni page.
Still struggling for inspiration? We’ve put together a top tips document to help you get started with your entry.
Applicants must either be a member of the Sport and Recreation Alliance, be affiliated or work in partnership with a member to be considered for an award. Head to our membership directory for guidance.
The deadline for entries is midnight on Monday 15 November. For more details on the process, the criteria and how to enter, visit our Community Sport and Recreation Awards page or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
