Development Officer (Scotland)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join British Dressage (BD) in the important role of Development Officer for Scotland. Working from home, but involving extensive travel across the country, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing our competition and training throughout Scotland, promoting and developing British Dressage in the region.

The Development Officer (DO) is responsible for coordinating and organising activity in the Scotland region, in line with the strategy and policies agreed by BD’s Technical Committees and Board of Directors.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and energetic team player, with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. You will need to be independent, proactive and self-motivated, with an in-depth knowledge of affiliated dressage, preferably located within the region or close to the border.

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, you will work closely with, and under the direction of, the volunteer Regional Committee for Scotland, which includes a chairman and representatives for coaches, riders, judges, para dressage, youth and marketing.

British Dressage has ambitious plans for the future, and you will play a central part in delivering a range of dynamic initiatives in this thriving region. This busy and varied position requires a flexible approach to working, with evening and weekend work an essential aspect of the role, including occasional overnight stays away from home.

Candidates will be required to have a full driving license and have access to their own car for travel. As you will be home based, a suitable working environment and good internet access is essential, along with high standards of computer literacy and extensive experience of Microsoft Office.
