We are the British Paralympic Association, or the BPA. As the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) for Great Britain, we focus on creating the best environment for our athletes as part of ParalympicsGB to perform at summer and winter Paralympic Games. We also promote the success of the ParalympicsGB team and its athletes to inspire wider social change.

With the rescheduled Tokyo Paralympic Games coming up in 2021, closely followed by the Beijing Winter Games in March 2022, there could not be a more exciting time to join our team!

You will be excited by the opportunity to be a key part of the ParalympicsGB team.

You’ll have excellent knowledge of providing medical services in an elite sporting environment and a strong understanding of the pressures and challenges of a high-profile multi-sport event.

You will have a full registration with the GMC, a post-graduate Sports Medicine qualification and certification in pre-hospital Emergency care.

You will be confident in bringing your expertise into our plans for preparing and delivering the Winter Games. As well as being highly organized, able to respond quickly to changes in our operating environment and technically skilled, you’ll be great with people!

And we’ll be doing everything we can to support you every step of the way - we’re committed to helping all of our team develop their skills and reach their full potential.

As our Beijing Chief Medical Officer (BCMO), you will work very closely with our Head of Performance and our Chief Medical Officer, both of whom are very experienced in Games planning and delivery.

The central purpose of the BCMO’s role is to plan and deliver medical services for Paralympics GB up to and including the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games.

The role will require a commitment of 15 days during the preparation phase from December 2020 to February 2022, for which a daily rate will be paid.

Additionally, you will need to be leading the Medical team in Beijing during the Games from 26 February to 14 March 2022 (exact rates TBC) – you will be paid a weekly rate as well as having your travel and accommodation expenses paid.
