England Golf have a fantastic volunteer opportunity to provide support to our elite amateur players; our potential golfing stars of the future. Welfare Officers will be given the opportunity to travel nationally and internationally with the squads and provide welfare support at competitions and events. Welfare Officers play an important role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our players and that they continue their sporting development. The Welfare Officer will work alongside the Governance team by supporting the Lead Safeguarding Officer in all matters relating to player welfare and safety, under the care of England Golf. The Welfare Officer will support our Performance team, to look after our elite amateur players that represent England in competitions and events at home and internationally. Your role is to provide sufficient welfare support to players and families and ensure that professional conduct and supervisory roles are maintained whilst teams/individuals are at training and events.
The role will require extensive travel with individuals/teams with the knowledge and ability to oversee individual’s needs and respond to safeguarding concerns. These are voluntary positions and as such will not receive any remuneration, however, expenses incurred in carrying out these duties will be reimbursed as per our expenses policy. England Golf will also provide:
• England Golf branded kit from our sponsorship partners (dependent upon sizes and availability)
• Opportunities for training and development
• Guidance and support from the Governance and Performance teams.
