Overview
British Wheelchair Basketball, the National Governing Body for wheelchair basketball in the United Kingdom, is recruiting for three new Independent Directors to drive and cultivate the organisation’s ambitious strategic vision through to Tokyo 2020 and beyond.
It is an exciting time in the sport’s history with all four GB teams claiming historic international successes, the domestic leagues broadcast on a national stage, delivery of innovative participation opportunities, new commercial partnerships being forged and the sport recently launching its new five year strategy (Strategy).
At the helm instigating ground breaking change and delivering the sports ambitious new strategy is CEO, Lisa Pearce. Over the next five years British Wheelchair Basketball has outlined the blueprint for the sports transformation through the delivery of participation, medal, governance and competition targets.
To meet the new strategic direction British Wheelchair Basketball is seeking Board Representation from individuals who are experts in their field, specifically holding skills in Elite Sports Performance, Communications and Digital, and HR and People Development.
In what is certainly a positive progressive new era for wheelchair basketball in the UK there has undoubtedly never been a better moment for passionate and skilled individuals to join the organisation.
