At the Youth Sport Trust, we are passionate about building a brighter future for all young people by harnessing the power to develop young people’s potential, helping them to be healthy and happy, succeed in life and contribute to society.

We are now looking for a commercially astute business developer to own our membership strategy, provide leadership to the team and lead activities to engage with primary and secondary schools, cluster coordinators, MATs and Academies. This is a unique role combining professional expertise and business acumen with a strong moral purpose. Do you have the expertise, vision and energy to deliver and influence our ability to support young people?

As Head of Membership you will ensure our membership strategy and approach is integral to our mission, values, ambitions and income generation plans. You will establish objectives and set KPIs and provide strategic input as well as coordinate all Local Projects where membership is part of the package. In this senior level role, you will work closely with colleagues to ensure membership income generation is sustainable whilst being responsive to member and school needs. Utilising organisational insight you will develop and implement membership improvements as well as maximise opportunities to extend into new markets and deliver membership growth. Important too will be the ability to manage relationships and influence stakeholders as well as lead and inspire reports to deliver against objectives. You will also take responsibility for establishing our Membership Advisory Group.

Experienced in commercial and business development, including cost modelling and budget management, you will have worked with education and health stakeholders, and gained a good understanding of the education and health landscapes. Having operated in a similar role you will be expert at developing and delivering ‘member benefit packages’ and understand how membership schemes operate. You will also be comfortable creating and implementing commercial plans, and can demonstrate a record of effectively delivering outcomes.

Your technical abilities will be complemented by excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills. You will excel at senior level stakeholder management, building productive relationships and partnerships as well as networking. You must have a track record of building and developing high performing teams too. An innovative thinker, you will effective at prioritising and remain calm and focused in adversity.
