Annual Conference 2020

We are excited to announce that this year’s Annual Conference will run virtually from 21 – 25 September, with a morning and afternoon session being held each day throughout the week and our annual AGM taking place on Wednesday 23 September.

It is no secret that the sport and recreation sector has been significantly affected by COVID–19. This year’s conference will be free to attend for members and will look to reflect on the harsh reality of the last few months, noting best practice and takeaway learnings whilst identifying the sector’s next moves.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from peers and experts from inside and outside of the sector, to ensure collectively we are prepared for the challenges to come and ready to embrace the opportunities that may arise.

Cathy O’Dowd - Conquering Everest:  An explorer’s mindset to conquering crisis

Description: As the first woman to climb both sides of Mount Everest, Cathy O’Dowd will share her story, reflecting on challenges she has faced during her life as an explorer. She will speak about the importance of team diversity, the opportunity to become a pioneer in adversity and the adaptability and importance of making contingency plans. The session will also look at how to identify unconscious bias in your decision-making processes.
