About the Role

The Role We are seeking a talented and innovative PR & Communications Manager to spearhead communication strategies that will help increase the Grounds Management Association’s (GMA) brand awareness, perception, and reputation. As a key member of the communications team, you will pro-actively drive forward the Public Relations and communications strategy for the GMA through a range of planned programmes of communications activity.

In this dynamic role you will be spinning many plates across multiple campaigns in a young, energetic, and passionate team. The role requires balancing internal and external needs, prioritising your objectives and those of the business. This is a hands-on role which requires a high level of attention to detail, strategic thinking, creativity, and resilience.

The successful candidate will be a natural storyteller and an excellent communicator who is skilled in copywriting, media, and influencer relations.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will be the key architect of PR campaigns that seamlessly blend business-focused messaging with consumer-centric narratives. A confident storyteller and copywriter, comfortable using data and insight to shape PR and communications initiatives.

This role will manage communications across all channels and platforms - external and internal, traditional, and non-traditional. You will have the opportunity to:

• Develop and execute strategic PR plans that enhance brand awareness and reputation, whilst helping to underpin the GMA’s five-year strategy.

• Drive forward creative public relations activity for SALTEX, Europe’s premier grounds management trade show.

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.

• Craft compelling press releases, thought leadership articles, and captivating social media content.

• Identify and engage with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure media coverage and endorsements.

• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to provide strategic recommendations to clients.

• Manage third-party agency relationships to maximise campaign activity and results What do you bring to the table?

• A proven track record in PR with five-six years’ experience, preferably in both B2B and B2C and/or sports or horticulture sectors.

• Ideally hold a relevant PR and/or Communications qualification with working experience in PR & marketing for largescale events such as tradeshows.

• The ability to develop and lead stand out creative and engaging PR and communications campaigns which include traditional and non-traditional media

• Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.

• A strategic mindset coupled with creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Familiarity with PR measurement and analytics tools to track and analyse campaign performance.

• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

• Strong crisis and issue management skills

• A passion for staying ahead of industry trends and a drive for continuous learning and growth.

Hybrid working - home based with attendance at Milton Keynes HQ and occasional travel and overnight stay on business.
