Solution Architect (Consultant - 12 month term)

PURPOSE

This important and exciting role will lead on setting out the solutions architecture for the ECB’s player and fan facing systems.  You will work across Digital, Data, Customer Support and Technology teams to ensure that the systems roadmap is informed and delivered in line with an end-state architecture that will ultimately underpin the ECB’s Inspiring Generations strategy. 

You will act as the bridge between business problems and technology solutions and be able to create a plan that will deliver the necessary outcomes for business teams and end users.  You will be skilled at identifying pain points in existing technology and be able to design or modify technical solutions to solve the underlying problems. You will be leading on the consolidation and streamlining of systems and delivering measurable business benefit and cost-savings. 

Particular focus will be on the multiple systems and infrastructure that underpins recreational cricket in England and Wales.

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF

·       You have a strong knowledge of solutions architecture best practice and are able to put technical theory into practice. 

·       You are excited by establishing solutions architecture methodology from scratch and putting in place long-term capability. 

·       You are adept at defining target-state architecture and enjoy working closely with business teams to thoroughly understand their needs.

YOU’LL BE DOING

·       Initially you will be responsible for understanding, evaluating and documenting the current systems architecture for recreational cricket. 

·       Designing and outlining how we can bring a wide-ranging ecosystem of distributed systems together into a fully integrated, modern platform. 

·       Subsequently you will be responsible for consulting on and then defining the target-state architecture with an associated fully costed plan for delivery. 

·       You will work closely with digital product and technology teams to understand new business initiatives, produce solution designs and provide support through to successful delivery. 

·       You will be responsible for identifying pain points created by the existing technology infrastructure and putting in place solutions to optimise workflows, process and systems.    

·       You will be responsible for defining and implementing the solution ideation, design and implementation process. 

·       You’ll be an advocate for new technology, staying up-to-date with the latest trends, tools and best practices and be able to bring that expertise into the ECB.  

 ·       Liaise with key stakeholders across the business to understand and translate customer needs into technology solutions. 

YOU’LL HAVE

 ·       Substantial and proven working in multiple B2C environments, managing multiple stakeholders and third parties

 ·       Demonstrable experience of turning architecture theory into measurable business benefit (user base 100,000+). 

 ·       Experience of deploying and developing Microsoft Dynamics solutions is essential. 

 ·       Adept at making decisions based on data – be proficient and champion measuring the success of all solutions that are delivered. 

 ·       Knowledge of data architecture principles. 

 ·       Experience and significant knowledge of working with cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS.  

  ·       A sound knowledge of solution architecture theory and demonstrable experience of delivering long-term business benefit.
