Assistant Operations Manager National Cricket Performance Centre

PURPOSE

To be responsible for the co-ordination and programming of usage of the ECB National Cricket Performance Centre (NCPC) facilities at Loughborough University and the administration of the activities undertaken at the NCPC.

Assist the Performance Operations Manager with the day-to-day operations of the National Cricket Performance Centre, its user groups, facilities, equipment and financial management. 

The role would ideally require someone to start at the end of June or the beginning of July 2024.

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF

  • You have an interest in high performance sport and want to contribute behind the scenes to the performance of England Cricket teams.

  • You enjoy and have an aptitude for operational planning in sport and programming a range of activities.

  • Whilst capable of working within a dynamic team, you can take individual responsibility for scheduling and programming a busy, multi-use facility with a diverse range of users.

  • You are an effective, meticulous administrator, who can diligently complete critical tasks.

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Scheduling the usage of the ECB Performance Centre by all key stakeholder groups – including communication with stakeholders, collation of all booking requests and responsibility for programming the facilities (indoor & outdoor).

  • Finalising usage requests and detailed facility requirements, meet/greet of user groups, and other ‘front of house’ responsibilities for ECB at Loughborough.

  • Coordinate and assist with all accommodation and catering operations/bookings for ECB groups utilising the ECB Centre for Performance purposes.

  • Liaise / communicate re ECB booking requirements with other University departments where relevant (eg. Loughborough Sport operational staff, Groundstaff re ground & net bookings, Meetings venues, LU security etc).

  • Issue health & safety procedures to staff and user groups. Liaise with user groups regarding Risk Assessments and observing of Safeguarding guidelines.

  • Liaison with Loughborough University reception staff and regarding Loughborough University bookings.

  • Liaise with LU Facility Manager regarding building and equipment maintenance, security and H&S operations.

  • Management & issue of Performance Centre building keys, access swipe cards and parking/vehicle charging operations for ECB staff.

  • Assist Operations Manager with updates to honours & achievements boards, player recognition or other imagery in the Centre.

  • Assist Performance Centre Operations Manager with annual budget setting and adherence to budget parameters within day-to-day operations. Assist with securing PO numbers and payment of all invoices.

  • Maintain records of usage of ECB Performance Centre facilities (Indoors and Outdoors) and use of any additional LU facilities and services – with particular reference to invoicing/billing information where relevant.

  • Principal responsibility for daily post/courier operations, stationery & staff kitchen ordering, coffee machine ordering and ensuring maintenance upkeep.

YOU’LL HAVE

  • Business management and/or people, facility management experience, ideally in Sport.

  • Experience of administration in high performance sport and working with Cricket or other sports user groups.

  • A good knowledge and understanding of Cricket is an advantage. 

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with meticulous attention to detail when programming /scheduling activities.

  • Some financial management experience and record keeping.

  • Excellent relationship management, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Good IT/Computer literacy skills including with MS Office, Excel and database applications.

  • High levels personal and professional integrity, and confidentiality.

  • High levels of energy and enthusiasm for sports administration.
