Wellbeing Officer

Taking the lead for mental wellbeing projects, you will build effective relationships with clubs and activity providers across the City, providing advice and guidance to help them understand how to be more inclusive and welcoming for our communities.

This role is specifically responsible for developing, coordinating and helping to evaluate the Comic Relief funded project 'Moving Lives, Healthy Minds'. The project partnership supports people with mental health conditions into activities in sports clubs and local places, to benefit their physical and mental wellbeing. It has already experienced success in Longbridge and is now moving towards its second phase in Erdington. This exciting project is led through an innovative partnership with Birmingham Solihull and Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT, Newman University and Sport Birmingham).

Building on the learning through the partnership, you will also influence and guide the wider sport and activity sector to become more inclusive and welcoming for people with long term health conditions. You will support clubs and providers to access funding to help grow new activities, develop workforce and empower them to celebrate the benefits that Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will bring to our city.
