Independent Non-Executive Director

  • Organisation: Gloucestershire FA
  • Contract: 3 year term
  • Closing Date: 08 March 2021 | Non Executive Director

Gloucestershire FA aims to increase participation in grassroots football and to make it inclusive for all. To support this aim, we are looking to recruit a new Director who is committed to the growth of grassroots football and we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups including women, young people, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities.

Role of a Director

The Board of Directors directs the business of the Association, determining the vision and strategy, the plans, policies and financial management required to achieve the Association’s aims. As such, individually and collectively, the Directors are accountable to the Council. Directors are appointed for a term of 3 years, after which time they are eligible for re-election, subject to certain age restrictions.

The role involves a commitment to attend Board meetings which, prior to Covid-19 meetings were held monthly at Oaklands Park, the Headquarters of the Association. Currently, all meetings are held online.

The Challenge

Our mission is to inspire people from all communities to engage with football in all its formats. We are seeking a committed individual who shares our vision for high business standards and values the work that we do to develop football for young people and adults in a safe, enjoyable and inclusive environment.

Time Commitment

The role is voluntary and time commitment should be only a few hours a month, as needed. There are no set days other than the monthly meetings of the Board. These are usually held during the working day but can be flexible if work commitments clash. Some additional email or telephone contact may be necessary as well as occasional meetings with the Chief Executive who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Association.

How to apply

If you are interested in this exciting opportunity to join the governing body for football in Gloucestershire, please complete the application forms and send it together with a covering letter to Recruitment@GloucestershireFA.com. The closing date for applications is midday, Monday 8 March 2021.
