Sales Ledger Administrator

Location: Sutton Coldfield

The PGA’s mission is to improve the personal and professional lives of its Members through our values of being professional, acting with integrity, being respectful and supportive. To help us deliver our core objectives, the PGA is seeking to recruit a Sales Ledger Administrator, based at the PGA National Headquarters, ensuring all purchases for the PGA and its associated undertakings are processed and paid according to the agreed company timescales and the relevant entries into the accounting software are accurate.

Based within the Finance Department, principal duties include; processing of the PGA HQ and associated undertakings including PGA’s of Europe, invoice requests/process into the accounting software/assist the credit control process for HQ; process regional sales ledger invoices/post cash receipts/advise regions on overdue debtors; post HQ/regional cash entries from bank into appropriate ledger accounts including associated undertakings as required; reconcile daily Blue Golf entries and post to ledger; assist in credit checking process/daily credit card reports;process and post cash received into the ledger;undertake any banking require at the PGA HQ; complete monthly bank reconciliation for the PGA and associated undertakings; reconcile the PGA sales ledger on a weekly basis; compile gift aid data on an annual basis ready for submission; ad hoc duties as required by the Senior Management Accountant and/or the PGA Director of Finance and IT or Group Finance Director.     

Essential skills and experience

  • GCSE level (or equivalent) Maths and English
  • Purchase/Sales / General ledger experience
  • Previous experience of accounting packages (preferably Microsoft Great Plains)
  • Excellent MS Office skills (particularly Excel)
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workloads
  • Previous experience of working within a finance team

The ideal candidate will be support/customer service focused with a confident, positive ‘can do’ attitude. Organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet strict deadlines with excellent communication skills, a good attention to detail with a flexible approach are amongst the key competences needed to succeed in this role.  

This is a permanent full time roll with core hours of the business being from 9 am until 5 pm Monday to Friday.
