Education Officer (Business & Management)

Location: West Midlands

The Professional Golfers’ Association is seeking an experienced and qualified individual to assist in all aspects of developing and delivering its Business & Management Education.

Based at the PGA National Training Academy, Ping House, The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, the successful candidate will assist the Education Department in all aspects of developing and delivering Business and Management education on the Professional Golf Studies FdSc programme, Professional Golf DipHE programme, Applied Golf Management Studies BSc programme, PGA Director of Golf qualification and ASQ (Level 5) Golf Club Management qualifications. 

Duties include assisting with:

  • Designing, producing, uploading and maintaining e-learning material 
  • Preparing, delivering and evaluating taught sessions
  • Designing, producing and coordinating the marking of assignments and examinations 
  • Ensuring quality assurance processes and procedures are followed and standards achieved
  • Providing reports and managing feedback 
  • Undertaking research to help ensure learning material remains cutting-edge, current and that programmes continue to be ground-breaking
  • Day to day operations of the department including arranging and attending meetings and promoting all programmes and qualifications at events

Qualifications and experience that are essential for the role includes: being educated to undergraduate level in a relevant subject area; an understanding of all aspects of business management, previous teaching experience (or the ability to complete QCF teaching qualification within 12 months) and being highly computer literate.  An appreciation of the role of a PGA Professional and the industry together with experience of e-learning production using Adobe and Articulate packages as well as experience of using learning management systems would be desirable. 

As well as having excellent presentation, communication, planning and organising skills, the successful candidate will be familiar with working to deadlines, have a good attention to detail with a flexible approach to work and will understand the needs of the business and the philosophy of a membership association.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 35 hours per week around the core hours of the business (9am until 5pm Monday to Friday).
