Innovation Manager- Get Out & Get Active

Women in Sport is the leading charity who’s vision it is for a society where gender equality exists in every sphere. With over 30 years’ experience we are advancing gender equality through and within sport; empowering women and girls through sport and transforming the sport sector.

We are looking for an innovation manager to lead on our commitment to the Get Out & Get Active programme joining the team to help support us in delivering our ambition. We need someone who shows a passion for women’s sport and has proven experience in relationship building, project management and working in the area of disability and inclusion.

In January 2016 ‘Spirit of 2012’ awarded a grant to a consortium of organisations to deliver the ‘Get Out & Get Active’ (GOGA) initiative. GOGA has been established to help reach the least active people in fun and inclusive opportunities, so that disabled and non-disabled people across the UK, their families and friends, can enjoy recreational physical activity together.

The initiative is led by The English Federation of Disability Sport and this role will have responsibility for delivering Women in Sport’s part of the programme. Women in Sport have committed to working with a range of organisations in selected locations across the UK (18 locations overall with a focus on a small number for Women in Sport). The role will focus on developing new relationships and providing partners with innovative ways to engage the least active women and girls in sport and physical activity, with a specific focus on disability. This will centre on sharing existing insight, generating new research and importantly the activation of learnings for positive impact.

This is a part-time role, 3 days per week, fixed-term until October 2019. The post can be based in either London or we will consider other bases around the country.
