Sport and recreation has a unique power to bring people from different cultures together

Sport and recreation has a unique power to bring people from different cultures together. Therefore more and more countries, including the UK, are using sport and recreation as a way of bridging cultural divides and fostering good diplomatic relations between different countries.

The Sport and Recreation Alliance is keen to learn more about this area. Therefore, we are asking our members to provide examples of any sports diplomacy work they are currently running, or have run in the past.

Your submissions will form our response to a request by an EU expert group who are gathering good practice on this area, as well as to inform the Sport and Recreation Alliance’s knowledge of the work its members do around sports diplomacy.

If you have any examples to share, please email them across to Robert Gill, Policy Support Officer- rgill@sportandrecreation.org.uk
