Nominations open for Arthur Bell Trophy and Emeritus Award

Nominations are now being taken for the Arthur Bell Trophy and the Emeritus Award, presented at the Sport and Recreation Alliance’s Annual General Meeting.

The Arthur Bell Trophy is awarded to the individual or organisation which has made an outstanding contribution to the development of community sport. Recent winners have included Baroness Sue Campbell, Sir Bobby Charlton and Lord Sebastian Coe.

The Emeritus Award is awarded for life-long or sustained service to sport and recreation or for long service to the Alliance. Recent winners have included former Chair of British Rowing Dame Diana Ellis and former Chairman of the Football Conference Brian Lee.

Anybody can nominate for the awards but the nomination will also need to be endorsed by your national governing body (or equivalent) which the Alliance can facilitate.

Honorary members of the Sport and Recreation Alliance can nominate without the need for this endorsement.

Nominations are open until 5pm on Monday 3 March 2014.

Nominate now.
