Coaching & Athlete Development Manager – Speed events

Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within England Athletics to work within the Athletics and Running Department to manage the coordination and delivery of coaching and athlete development in the speed events (100/200/400/110mH/400mH/Relays) The postholder will work with a team of Coach and Athlete Development Managers to ensure the strategic aims of England Athletics and its partners are met.

Specifically they will:

- Provide leadership and expertise around the speed events.

- Plan and deliver coach and athlete camps at the talent level to link with the UKA Futures programme.

- Plan and deliver a coach and athlete development programme at regional and local level including camps, workshops and conferences for the speed events.

- Create resources and contribute to the development of online engagement with coaches and athletes.

- Provide expert advice around all aspects of speed development from competition planning to coach and athlete development.

- Lead and manage speed events for England teams.

This is a key role within the organisation and an ability to create productive relationships with a broad range of partners, work with volunteers and professional staff is vital. athletes feeding into the World Class Performance level.

The successful candidate will have a Level 4 coaching qualification or an ability to show they are working at this level; a relevant degree or similar qualification; a valid driving licence and an up to date UKA Coaching licence. An understanding of performance sport is desirable, although not essential.
