The Sport and Recreation Alliance is looking for a new Media Communications Officer to join the team and help increase the organisation’s public profile.

“We are looking for someone with a background in media, communications or journalism to help build our reputation as the independent voice for sport and recreation” explains Rob Arnott, Communications and Member Engagement Manager at the Alliance.

“We are moving into year two of our organisational strategy, The Heart of an Active Nation and are focused on clearly communicating the work we are doing around our four objectives. This will require targeted media relations alongside content development for our own communications channels in order to reach our key audiences, including our members and policy makers.”

The Alliance is the independent voice of the sport and recreation sector, providing advice, support and guidance to its members which include national governing bodies and other national and regional sport and recreation organisations. The Alliance works closely with government, policy makers and the media to help grassroots sport and recreation grow and thrive.

Rob added: “This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their communications career and who is keen to work in a dynamic member organisation. The role offers plenty of opportunity to be creative and lead projects and is integral to our work with members and wider stakeholders to help promote the interests of the sport and recreation sector."

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 21 March and further information is available here.
