Board Members for Sport
What is Board Members for Sport?
Board Members for Sport is part of the Sport and Recreation Alliance's portfolio of governance tools. It's an initiative that allows our members access to a varied skill-network of people when looking to recruit new directors on to their Board.
The network, overseen by the Alliance, involves participants being frequently invited to events where they can network with current and other prospective board members of sport and recreation organisations.
Events will feature experienced guest speakers so that participants get a chance to ask questions and gain invaluable insight into what it means to be a high calibre board director.
Who can join the Board Members for Sport network?
The Alliance will work with large UK companies with marketing, finance, legal and HR skills to provide their employees with the opportunity to join the network as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
If you are a company wanting to take part in the programme, find out how you can get involved.
The Alliance is also looking for people outside of large companies with the right skills to become independent directors.
If you are interested in becoming part of the network as individual, find out how you can apply.
As a participant in Board Members for Sport, how will it help me?
All candidates in the Board Members for Sport network will be held on a database.
Member organisations in need of a board director will contact the Sport and Recreation Alliance with a job description and list of skills that they are looking for.
The Alliance will then send the job description to people in the database who match the required skills, and encourage them to apply for the position.
If you have more questions about the Board Members for Sport initiative, email the Sport and Recreation Alliance's Governance Team or call 020 7976 3900.
