The Sports Club Survey is a piece of research undertaken by the Sport and Recreation Alliance, in partnership with Sport England, to assess the health of sport and recreation clubs across the country. It features questions on a variety of topics such as membership and volunteer numbers, club finances and the key challenges sports clubs are facing.
The responses to the survey will help provide valuable insight into the current state of clubs, volunteers and coaches that is needed to inform future funding and wider decisions made by Sport England and National Governing Bodies. The Alliance and Sport England will work together to review the results of the survey and seek to address the challenges highlighted by the data.
Caroline Fraser, Workforce Director at Sport England has commented:
"The 2017 Sports Club Survey is a really important piece of research for Sport England. It will enable us to identify trends or changes from previous surveys and also to capture some new and different information about clubs, their members and volunteers and the challenges they face. It will be a key piece of insight to inform our Clubs Strategy which will be written later in Spring 2018. This Strategy will be used to shape club support resources such as Club Matters going forwards. We would really appreciate our stakeholders and partners encouraging clubs to complete the survey to give us the best possible picture of ‘real life’ for clubs."
The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Respondents will have the option of saving their progress as they go along and to return to the survey at a later date. In order to complete the section about club finances (section E of the questionnaire), it is recommended that respondents have information about their finances to hand.
The survey closes 19 January, all entrees will be entered into a prize draw where you can win an iPad or sports equipment vouchers!
