From trials and tribulations to triumph and tenacity, sport and recreation drives excitement, and thanks to a new innovative platform, you can ensure that your members never miss a moment of action.

In our exhibitor space at our upcoming Fit for the Future Convention, you will have the opportunity to meet representatives from Joymo, a streaming service that makes it easy for clubs, leagues and organisations to broadcast their content to customers around the world.

Ahead of the event, we sat down with Joymo’s Strategic Partnerships Manager, Steve Thomas to discuss what’s in store for attendees next month.

What are the benefits of sport and recreation organisations adopting certain technologies?

In general, technology is a fantastic enabler for sport and recreation at the grassroots level. There are so many tools available to make the process of organising and managing sport more efficient, leaving more time to focus on play and activity.

From a Joymo perspective, we see technology as a way to engage more people – both participants and fans – with the clubs, leagues, competitions and events that matter to them.

We believe that all sport content has value and a community willing to pay for access to view. By monetising that value, sport organisers can generate additional funds to help sustain themselves and create content that better engages participants and fans. This in turn helps attract more people to view and do in the future.

How is technology changing the sport and recreation landscape?

When harnessed positively, technology has the ability to be a gamechanger for sport and recreation at grassroots level. It’s never been easier to manage, motivate, monitor and monetise grassroots sport, its content and participants. This is tremendously important when we are talking about helping the nation to get, and stay, active which has massive implications in terms of the health and wellbeing.

Which Alliance members are you currently working with?

Joymo has been selected by the English Indoor Bowling Association (EIBA) as the organisation´s Exclusive Broadcast Partner. The new multi-year partnership will see Joymo stream a selection of EIBA National Championship Games, beginning in late March. This partnership will give fans of the sport anywhere in the world the opportunity to watch the games live or on-demand.

What will attendees learn from visiting you at Fit for the Future?

Joymo exists to empower sports organisers and participants - at all levels - by providing them with the tools, resources and technology to broadcast directly to their fans and make sure that they never miss a moment of the sport they love.

Joymo works closely with rights holders to unlock and realise the value of their events by making domestic and international competitions available to fans to watch anytime and anywhere, generating revenues that can be channelled straight back into sport.

What are your hopes for the event?

Joymo are looking forward to helping members identify new ways to connect their clubs & community by forming a partnership that promotes their sport positively through broadcast solutions that drives new revenues back into their sport - from the pinnacle to grassroots.
