The awards reward outstanding clubs – clubs that have forged strong links with local clubs; clubs which have gone out of their way to welcome new members; clubs which have performed exceptionally elsewhere – and carry a prize fund of £12,500. Clubs were nominated in the following categories:
- Community Sports Club of the Year
- Open and Inclusive Club of the Year
- Best Club Volunteer Management Programme
- Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) of the Year
- School Club Links Award – in conjunction with the Youth Sport Trust
- Professional Sports Club Community Programme of the Year
