Andrew has led the development, and now the delivery of, The Heart of an Active Nation, our current five-year strategy. This new strategy sees getting the nation active through sport and recreation at the heart of all we do and really working with our members and the wider sector to create a vibrant sector which is fit for the future. Sport and recreation plays such an important role in both physical and mental wellbeing, the economy and the development of our society.
Andrew Moss, Chairman, said on his recent appointment: “I am really pleased to have been re-appointed as Chairman of the Sport and Recreation Alliance.
"There has never been a better time to positively impact the wellbeing of people up and down the country. The sport and recreation sector is uniquely placed to help the disadvantaged, and the socially excluded and support them in their mental and physical wellbeing.
The Alliance has a proud heritage and I feel privileged to be in a position to lead the Alliance through our new strategy – working with our members for an active nation through sport and recreation.”
Andrew’s second three-year term will begin at the Annual Conference & AGM on 25 September 2018.
The Sport and Recreation Alliance is now recruiting for an elected director to join the board.
The Alliance is continuing to strive for a more diverse Board of Directors as part of its Equality and Diversity Policy and would welcome applications from women, BAME groups and people with disabilities.
