Alliance CEO, Lisa Wainwright, will be a guest speaker on the final webinar which will explore the advantages of LGBT+ inclusion in governance structures, potential challenges in recruiting more diversely and strategies for success.
Lisa, who herself is a passionate advocate of the LGBT+ community, spoke about the new partnership.
“We are really proud to announce our support for this new and exciting webinar series. Working in partnership with Pride Sports on this project will help to transform how our organisations are able to reach and empower LGBT+ communities.
“The more people we educate, the better access LGBT+ people will have to inclusive environments. This is vital as we look to engage with every individual in our sector, from grassroots participation right to the very top of sports governance.
“Sexuality or gender identity should be irrelevant to a person’s engagement in sport or physical activity and we hope these webinars will inspire clubs, individuals and organisations to connect with new audiences and champion the key message that sport is for everyone.”
The series of workshops gets underway on Tuesday 2 June and all webinars are free to attend. For more information and to register, please visit https://www.sportandrecreation.org.uk/events/srapride2020.
