Working with UK Sport and the Ann Craft Trust, the Sport and Recreation Alliance has launched a resource pack to help governing bodies keep adults safe in sport.
The government has introduced a legal requirement for the vetting of certain individuals who work with adults and the resource pack will give organisations and individuals working in sport the background needed to achieve them.
The pack provides helpful information and advice and will help you to appreciate what the best practice is for keeping adults safe.
Sallie Barker, chair of the safeguarding adults steering group said:
“The Sport and Recreation Alliance was asked by its members to help them safeguard adults in their sport and activity.
"We teamed up with the Ann Craft Trust and UK Sport to produce this resource pack, which we hope will help our members address their legal and moral responsibility to safeguard their staff, volunteers and participants.
“Safeguarding adults in sport is vital to all organisations in our sector and your vigilance and care will create wider participation in your sport or activity and ensure safe access for everyone.”
