PURPOSE
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Performance and Operations Manager will:
-
Be responsible for ensuring that the ECB Performance Centre is maximised across men’s, women’s, disability, pathway, coach development and sports science / sports medicine delivery.

Ensure that the environment and culture at the ECB Performance Centre enables innovation, creativity and progressive thinking / action.

Collaborate with Loughborough University recognising the critical nature of operational and logistical provision, and the running of the site by Loughborough University for multiple users.

Work proactively with Loughborough University to optimise (i) facilities (e.g., ECB Performance Centre), (ii) cricket specific needs (e.g., grounds, nets and wickets) and (iii) research and innovation initiatives.

Support the men’s and women’s Performance Directors, Heads of Science and Medicine, Head of Coach Development and Pathway Leads in leveraging the ECB Performance Centre.

Support and lead on performance projects and initiatives which underpin senior teams winning global tournaments.

YOU’LL BE DOING
The role will play a pivotal role in the following Operational and Performance areas:
Performance:
-
Lead relevant performance projects, such as: implementation of personalised programmes (individuals or small groups), targeted skill-based interventions, winter training initiatives, and any other relevant areas of work (as directed by respective Performance Directors).

In conjunction with Loughborough University, lead the strategic evolution of the ECB Performance Centre as a base for international player development.

Ensure that cricket facilities are of world-class standard (outdoor wickets, outdoor nets, indoor nets and other ancillary facilities), by maintaining exceptional working relationships with Loughborough University and ground staff, seeing opportunities and acting in the interest of international teams.

Operate as an integral member of performance leadership teams in respective areas of international cricket (men’s and women’s).

Act as the lead point of contact for Loughborough University on core areas of research and innovation. Maintain, co-ordinate and streamline all research strands with Loughborough University.

Manage the ECB Performance Centre budget.
Operational:
-
Lead and guide all aspects of the ECB related Performance Centre activity, ensuring the needs of senior teams and associated functions (e.g., science and medicine, pathway and coach development) are balanced and met.

Lead, manage and align processes that ensure effective and efficient operational delivery of the ECB Performance Centre.
-
Lead all contractual and facility components of the ECB Performance Centre from an ECB perspective.
-
Work proactively with Loughborough University (and all relevant staff) to ensure that multiple user groups are effectively integrated in strategic and operational delivery.

Support the Assistant Operations Manager in the seamless operational delivery of the ECB Performance Centre.

Support the respective performance Directors (men’s and women’s) with contracting of non-permanent coaching and support staff
YOU’LL HAVE
-
A high-level of experience in performance sport, ideally having worked with multi-disciplinary teams (including Performance Directors, Coaches and Science and Medicine staff) – essential.
-
A relevant level of performance project leadership and / or proximity to enable the effective support of performance initiatives across international teams and pathways – essential.
-
Experience of strategic facility leadership (ideally in high performance sport) – strongly desirable.
-
A depth of cricket knowledge which allows you to support, interact and maintain and an optimal set of cricket facilities – strongly desirable.

Excellent leadership and management skills – essential.

Financial management experience – essential.

High levels of personal and professional integrity – essential.

A proven track record of being progressive, optimistic and striving to enable more – essential.

A valid Driving Licence - Whilst this role is predominately based at Loughborough with occasional meetings at Lords. There will also be a requirement for some national travel aligned to performance programme activity and infrequent international travel.
