DATA SCIENTIST (BRITISH SAILING)

KEY RESPONSIBILITITES

Be a confident practitioner capable of working with a variety of people; including coaches, sailors, technical practitioners and SSSM practitioners.
Have experience and competence in working with data through its life cycle; specifically collecting, cleansing, storing, integrating and visualising/reporting
Work with the HoPs and Chief Technical officer to identify opportunities and implement solutions that improve the way data is captured and managed.
Use analytical tools such as Python and Power BI to efficiently retrieve, manipulate, report and visualise sailing performance data
Apply your expertise in data integration, and the presentation of data to key stakeholders by; building, refining and maintaining performance dashboards and reports for use by coaches, practitioners, and senior leadership team (SLT)
Support the HoPs and Chief technical officer with the development and delivery of our Data Strategy contributing to the planning and coordination of tasks with colleagues and third-party providers.
Contribute to the scoping of data science projects with the wider Performance Support Team aiding the understanding, resources, benefits, and challenges of proposed projects.
Support appropriate use and management of NGB file storage systems that enable sharing of information and insight and support online collaboration across the Performance Support Team e.g. Microsoft 365
Keep up with the latest developments in the field of data science, exploring the feasibility of applying them in the performance environment
Work with EIS Performance data team and designated technical lead to align NGB and performance data streams
