Monitoring & Evaluation Manager

 We are looking to appoint a Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to lead Access Sport’s monitoring and evaluation activity, as well as our wider research related activity. This is a new role within the organisation and the post holder will have the opportunity to shape a new, sector leading, approach to impact monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. Any new approach will need to take account of both existing and future partner and supporter requirements, whilst also helping to inform the ongoing development of our varied activities during a period of growth. Working closely with our Delivery Team, as well as the Fundraising & Communications Team, the post holder’s ultimate goal is to help us to deliver our stated vision, mission, and objectives, as detailed our 2022- 2025 growth strategy ‘Stand for Inclusion’.

 

Responsibilities

• Review, shape, develop and lead Access Sport’s impact monitoring and evaluation work as well as other research activity.

• Align monitoring and evaluation activity to our new five-year growth strategy targets and annual milestones, with a focus on the four key benefits on which we focus (see growth strategy). 

• Work closely with the wider Access Sport team, as well as partner clubs and organisations, to embed a consistent and robust approach to data collection across our varied activities.

• Oversee all aspects of our qualitative and quantitative research work, including surveys, workshops and panels, from design through to implementation and reporting.

• Manage relationships with external evaluation partners e.g. Universities or research agencies. • Lead on the development of engaging and accessible internal and external storytelling and impact reporting for key partners, supporters and trustees, including production of an overarching annual impact report and other communication materials.

• Build inclusion practices into our monitoring, evaluation and research activity and promote good practice across our system partners.

• Inform the research, monitoring and evaluation aspects of our varied funding applications, promoting a standardised approach wherever possible.

• Contribute to sector research undertaken by our national partner organisations including, for example, Activity Alliance and the Sport for Development Coalition.

• Maintain an up to date understanding of best practice in impact monitoring and evaluation within the sports, sport for development and charity sectors.

• Contribute to research activity as part of Access Sport’s System Change consultancy/ advisory work.

• Support the monitoring and evaluation of Access Sport’s EDI action plan, which may include occasional internal organisational surveys and consulting with external partners.

• Support other ad hoc organisation wide research to support internal process improvements and governance.
