Local Project Manager (Tyne and Wear)

  • Location: North East
  • Organisation: England Golf
  • Salary: Circa £29,000 - £34,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)
  • Closing Date: 03 July 2022 | Events & Operations

Salary c. £29,000 - £34,000 (dependent on experience) + employee assistance programme, private healthcare, 3x salary life assurance, pension, 33 days annual leave (includes bank holidays and company days).

This is an exciting new role funded by Sport England for a 4–5-year period. As the Local Project Manager, you will be working in Tyne and Wear to manage and implement the delivery of multiple projects. In the post, you will play a fundamental role by exploring golf’s opportunity to drive participation in under-represented groups by connecting with partners and potential collaborators within the region. Applicants will ideally live within the Tyne and Wear region.

We’re looking for someone with:
• The ability to develop strong working relationships across a wide range of potential collaborators, partners, clubs and counties within the golf eco-system
• Experience of working within local sport, physical activity or health networks
• A knowledge of the structure of national, regional and county based sport
• Experience in delivering projects or working with a focus on transformational change
• Effective relationship management skills that clubs, facilities and organisations can trust

A knowledge of golf would be advantageous but is not essential. What is more important is for the candidate to understand the diverse local communities with which we are looking to engage.

The post is full-time (Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours) but you may be required to work weekends and evenings. The position is home-based, although the successful candidate will be required to travel on a regular basis to meetings (valid driving licence and car ownership are essential). You will be entitled to travel and other expenses and will be expected to attend meetings and events at our headquarters at Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire.

As the national governing body for amateur golf, we work at the heart of golf in England, supporting and empowering a thriving community of players, counties and clubs to get the most out of the game we love. We value being Honest, Inclusive, Responsible, Excellent and Supportive.
