EDI Director

  • Location: London
  • Organisation: Professional Cricketers' Association
  • Salary: £80,000 plus benefits
  • Closing Date: 27 June 2022 | Governance

The Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA) is the representative body of past and present first-class cricketers in England and Wales. Total membership is over 3,500 cricketers past and present across the men’s and women’s games. We support the game of cricket and safeguard the futures of its players.

The PCA is demonstrably committed to realising equality of opportunity for its staff and members. It works to ensure that professional cricketers work in an inclusive environment protected from discrimination, where every player is actively supported and included, and has the knowledge and support necessary to challenge any form of discrimination. The PCA now seeks an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Director to provide strategic leadership in EDI across both men’s and women’s professional cricket.

As the EDI Director, you will report to the Chief Executive Officer of the PCA, Rob Lynch. You will work to deliver measurable impact on matters of equality, diversity and inclusion. As a trusted, impartial advocate across the spectrum of EDI agendas, you will work with stakeholders to facilitate difficult conversations with contradictory points of view in an inclusive and sensitive manner. You will lead the PCA’s internal EDI policies and manage, coordinate and then deliver internal and external education programmes as part of the PCA’s EDI strategy. In addition, you will oversee the PCA’s Inclusion Champions Programme, as well as leading and shaping the direction of the PCA’s EDI Working Group. The role will be a conduit of best practice gleaned from the professional EDI community beyond the PCA. As EDI Director, developing and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders such as the ECB will be key to success.

The PCA is seeking a collaborative and strategic leader with a track record of having led Equality, Diversity & Inclusion change in a complex organisation. You will be able to develop and articulate a clear vision and address inequalities using your skills as an EDI champion and constructive challenger at the Executive level. You will plan, develop, set up and embed structures to support the achievement of EDI targets, actions and initiatives. With a broad outlook on a range of EDI issues, you will bring an excellent understanding of contemporary EDI challenges and policy at a national level. You will be adept at building effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders in order to influence decision-making that leads to change. It would be desirable to have working knowledge of the sporting landscape of law, policy and debate in relation to EDI.
