There are also more than 7m who run each month in England, 2,000 licensed road races and 163,000 active RunTogether participants operating in more than 2,999 groups.

With the current postholder retiring in the summer of 2022 and to ensure a smooth handover, England Athletics is looking for an England Competitions Delivery Manager who will be part of the Coaching and Athlete Development team which is responsible for managing key activities, specifically EA’s athlete/talent development activity implementation and with a specific focus in managing the talent ID/Development pathway from grassroots to pre-world class level (including Commonwealth Games).
The postholder will coordinate all England Athletics national age group and senior competitions and to help inform our international representative team strategy and activities under the direction of the Head of Coaching & Athlete Development and work with the Event Group Leads and other team colleagues such as the Major Events Manager. The post holder will have primary responsibility to lead the operational and logistics planning for all annual England Athletics National Competitions including the indoor and outdoor track and field competition programme across age group and senior events throughout the calendar year and to act as England’s representative on the UK Anti-Doping Advisory Group as EA's Clean Athletics lead officer.
We are looking for an individual with excellent project management skills. Previous experience of event management and liaising with volunteers and contractors is essential. Knowledge of organising athletics competitions and national events would be an advantage. The individual should have experience of managing budgetary spend for projects/events.
