Independent Chair

  • Salary: Voluntary with reasonable expenses paid.

Working with the Board and the CEO, the Chair will have:

  • The vision and ambition to create and develop the future strategy of Boccia England.
  • Take the lead in ensuring the highest standards of conduct and governance for the organisation, including financial and legal compliance.
  • Ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with Boccia England’s purpose and values, and as set out in constitutional and legal documents, strategies, policies.

Term: This appointment is for a term of four years, the Chair may stand for a second term (total 8 years) but must then stand down. The current Chair stands down in May 2022, however, we hope the new Chair Elect will join the Board as a co-opted Trustee to enjoy a cross over period prior to taking up the position.

Hours worked: There are four Board meetings and a Board Development Day each year, plus attendance at some sub-committees. During 2020/21 these were successfully held virtually paving the way for considering future working practices.

In addition the successful candidate is expected to attend various Boccia England events throughout the season. Time commitment will be in the region of 1-2 days a month.
