Skateboard GB is recruiting!

An opportunity has arisen for us to employ a full-time Progression Project Lead, to build & lead the Progression Programme for skateboarding in the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced person who has a deep understanding of and passion for skateboarding.

The role will suit a highly driven, competent and innovative individual with a successful background in operations in addition to management experience of developing and leading projects. You will have a knowledge of sport and people development, and ideally of world class performance systems and talent pathways in sport.

Since the announcement of skateboarding’s inclusion in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, SBGB have been creating a plan for building the systems to allow talented skaters to be identified and support provided so they can reach their potential.

SBGB has recently been awarded progression grant funding from UK Sport which will give us the opportunity to support talented skaters. This is a game-changer for the sport and will enable us to work with the skateboarding community to build the foundations of talent and world-class performance programmes that complement the culture of skateboarding.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to deliver the Progression Project who is:

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about skateboarding;
  • Has strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills;
  • Is self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks;
  • Must be able to work on own initiative, and have excellent project management, organisational & planning skills;
  • Has a working experience of creating, monitoring budgets and completing finance returns in line with financial policies and procedures.

The role is home-based and will involve considerable travel across the UK. Consequently, a full clean UK driving licence and access to a car are essential, as is the availability to work flexibly including regular evenings and weekends throughout the year. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake a DBS check upon offer of the role.

To apply, please send a covering letter stating why you are suitable for the role along with your CV to James Hope-Gill, Chief Executive Officer at james@stakeboardgb.org by noon on Friday 26 February 2020.
