Legal Director

  • Organisation: BowlsWales
  • Salary: Reasonable expenses to be paid for
  • Contract: 2-3 days per month with 11 annual board meetings
  • Closing Date: 25 November 2020 | Non Executive Director

BowlsWales is the coordinating body for the sport of bowls in Wales. Our vision is ‘Bowls as a lifetime sport for all’.

BowlsWales is a company limited by guarantee with a skills-based Board of Directors. We are looking to elect one further Board Director.

To fully deliver against our ambitions, it is essential that the Board has the right blend of skills, diversity and experience as outlined in the Governance and Leadership Framework for Wales. BowlsWales are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Board to support the delivery of our aims and objectives.

Previous experience in a Board position is desirable but not essential. Candidates who have not previously served in a Director role should still be able to demonstrate the skills and competencies necessary to contribute to the Board.
The role will require around approximately 2-3 days per month, this is including monthly Board meetings but sometimes depending more on the time of year. There are usually 11 Board meetings per year and Directors may be asked to represent the organisation at other relevant meetings and events.

Whilst this is a non-salaried position, reasonable expenses to attend meetings will be paid to the successful candidate. BowlsWales is committed to achieving a diverse, inclusive and balanced Board and are committed to equality of opportunity. Females are currently underrepresented on the Board and we would openly encourage applications from individuals possessing the required skills set.

If you would like to express an interest in the role, please send your CV with a supporting letter to General Manager Sophie Hancocks at Sophie.Hancocks@bowlswales.comThe closing date for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 25 November 2020. Interviews will take place between the 27 November - 4 November.

If you would like to discuss the role please contact Ken Burton (Chair) at kennyburtonbw@gmail.com.
