England Athletics is the membership and development body for the sport in England. We work in partnership with the wider athletics family, especially our member clubs, UK Athletics, Sport England & Commercial Partners, to grow opportunities for everyone to experience athletics and running, to enable them to reach their full potential. England Athletics also provides national level competition and is responsible for athlete development beneath world class performance level.

England Athletics is a membership organisation with c1,800-member clubs/bodies and c185,000 registered athletes, which exists to provide services and support to its members and to promote and deliver athletics and running activities across all ages, event disciplines, ability levels and aspirations. There are also more than 7m who run each month in England, 3,650 licensed road races and 128,000 active RunTogether participants operating in more than 2,600 registered running groups.

Our vision is that athletics will be the most popular and inclusive sport in England, led by a network of progressive clubs and organisations, and supported by a sustainable, respected and trusted governing body. In achieving this we will expand the capacity of the sport, sustain and increase participation and performance levels as well as influence participation in the wider athletics market.

A vacancy has arisen for a Part-Time Board & Non-Executive Secretary to support the Board of Directors, Statutory Sub Committees, Task & Finish Groups and Council Structure. This individual will prepare reports and handle information requests, maintain and keep clear and concise files, meeting minutes and records on all Board, Council and sub-committee/group matters. This post holder will ensure that England Athletics remains compliant with all statutory requirements and follows governance best practice and works towards continual improvement in line with the mandatory sports governance code.

Therefore, we are looking for an individual with previous experience within a company secretarial environment, experience of administrating governance related policy and with strong analytical and writing skills.
