Independent Non-Executive Director

Great Britain Lacrosse is seeking to recruit an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) to a board position, for appointment in summer 2020.

This will be the first Independent appointment onto the newly restructured Great Britain Lacrosse board. This presents an exciting opportunity to shape the sport of Lacrosse in Britain and to meet the challenges of supporting World Lacrosse’s Olympic vision.

Great Britain Lacrosse (GB Lacrosse) is the overarching body for Lacrosse in Great Britain encompassing representatives from the 3 Home Countries National Governing Bodies, England Lacrosse, Scottish Lacrosse and Welsh Lacrosse and an appointed chair.

The GB Lacrosse board is tasked with setting the strategy, overseeing the finances and managing performance of the Great Britain Lacrosse Teams.

Over the last decade Lacrosse has experienced an unprecedented period of growth which is presenting exciting challenges and opportunities for the sport and its strategic decision makers. In 2018 Lacrosse received provisional Olympic recognition and through its involvement in the World Games is seeking to further the Olympic ambition. Great Britain Lacrosse’s board will assist with furthering this ambition.

GB Lacrosse is seeking to recruit a passionate and innovative individual to the board who can contribute to our strategy, raise the profile of the sport and enhance the performance and structure of our GB teams.

The role requires an individual with strategic, leadership and management skills. Your motivations might be many and varied – from wanting to make a difference in the 3rd sector, having a passion for sport, to enhancing your CV through voluntary work. Whatever your motivation we wish to hear about them and will support you to achieve them.

The INED role requires a commitment to 3 board meetings per year and is an unremunerated position but reasonable expenses are paid.
