  • Closing Date: 16 February 2020 | Non Executive Director

The LTA Trust (the ‘Trust’) is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee, having no share capital. It was incorporated on 29 May 2012 and is bound by its Memorandum and Articles of Association. The Trust was registered by the Charity Commission (Charity Number 1148421) on 2 August 2012. The Trust's only member is the LTA Operations Limited ("the LTA"). The Trust is an independent charity with six trustees, four independent and two appointed by the LTA.

The aims of the Trust are to promote community participation by providing facilities for playing tennis, mini tennis or other tennis related activity in line with the LTA's strategic plan and facilities strategy. The LTA Trust plans to achieve this through grant support and investment in community accessible tennis facilities. A major aspect of the Trust's work is the provision of capital grants to support the LTA’s Transforming British Tennis Together (TBTT) facility investment programme. TBTT projects include development of tennis facilities in parks, clubs, schools and universities to provide affordable access of these facilities to the community.

The LTA Trust Board of Trustees are company directors and charity trustees. They are accountable for the proper use of the Trust’s charitable assets and are accountable for ensuring that the Trust meets its charitable objectives. We are seeking individuals with solid knowledge of the grassroots tennis landscape, specifically where sport has made a difference within communities, and for individuals who have experience of grant giving within this environment. Experience of working as part of a Board of Trustees and of charity governance is required.
