The BEF is seeking to appoint a new Independent Chair of the Board to lead and work alongside the Board and CEO to deliver the BEF’s vision; and a Senior Independent Director to support the Chair and deputise for them should that be required. Applicants should possess the commitment, drive and skills to make a tangible contribution to the long-term success and sustainability of the BEF, for the benefit of its members as a whole. Equally important will be influencing and negotiation skills, with the credibility to build trust and nurture strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
The ideal candidates will possess a passion for sport, be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, an excellent understanding of governance, preferably gained in a sporting organisation, and highly effective influencing and communication skills. All Board Members are expected to meet the highest standards of integrity. A declaration of good conduct covering bankruptcy and an identity check will be required. The role is voluntary with reasonable expenses being reimbursed.
