Referee Development Officer

Devon FA are seeking to recruit a Referee Development and Appointments officer with the responsibility of developing the Referee workforce across the County FA boundaries and delivering the current Devon FA Appointments Scheme.

The role encompasses the following areas:

  • Strategic planning and implementation of effective retention & development strategies for referees in line with our Business Plan to deliver our County FA Key Performance Indicators.
  • Strategic planning and delivery of the referee developer workforce.  
  • Ensure all referees and members of the referee developer workforce meet FA Safeguarding requirements and fully aware of the FA Respect.
  • Appoint to all leagues and competitions within the Devon FA Appointments Scheme
       

You will need to be passionate about and committed to the recruitment and development of referees. You should have experience of refereeing and/or referee development along with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to positively influence at all levels.

The role will involve traveling around the County, so a driving license and your own transport is essential. You must be able to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines as well as taking ownership of the responsibilities of the role you will need to do so within a team environment, so team working skills are an essential requirement.

The post is based at the headquarters of the Devon FA, working 36.25 hours per week. Evening and weekend work will be necessary when required. 

As this role involves direct access to young persons under the age of eighteen, within the context of the job or any subsequently related activities or responsibilities, the successful candidate will undergo a thorough screening process, which will include a Criminal Records Check, to ensure their suitability for the role.

The successful candidate will be subject to a six-month probationary period.
