Overview of the Role:

We are seeking an experienced investigator and a self-motivated individual with a passion for grassroots football to support the governance of football in Essex.  The successful candidate will work from our County Office in Chelmsford and will be responsible for the investigation and processing of misconduct, through the application of the FA’s guidelines and regulations. 

What you’ll be doing:

Managing and overseeing the Investigations process across the County from the receipt of a report of misconduct through to a possible charge being raised. 

Liaising with the individuals, Clubs, Leagues, or Referees who have made a misconduct report or complaint, as well as those who are the subject of the investigation, in order to conduct a thorough investigation and be able to make a decision about whether a charge should be raised, and the appropriate charge type. 

Supporting all the other functions of the Governance department including affiliations, sanctioning, discipline, promoting FA IT systems, and supporting Clubs and Leagues.

Who we are looking for:

Reporting in to the Governance Manager, this post will require an individual who can work under pressure as part of a team while managing an individual workload and priorities.  This post requires a professional and highly organised person with a track record of conducting investigations or research into sensitive issues, ideally within a football environment. 

This is a full-time post (36.15 hours per week) and will require occasional evening or weekend work.  Applicants must have an understanding of grassroots football and the rules and regulations that govern the game. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to use innovation, initiative and research skills to help preserve and protect grassroots football and its participants.

Applicant will need to demonstrate exceptional customer service, with excellent communication and presentation skills.  They will need a very good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.  They must be able to demonstrate the Essex FA values of Understanding, Innovation, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.
