Regional Pathway Coach

Salary: Competitive

Location: London and South-East

About the role:

As Regional Pathway Coach you will play a key role in the delivery of the LTA’s Player Pathway in London and the South East region, supporting the identification and development of a pool of players to the standard required for selection onto the National Age Group Programme and National Academies. You will lead the organisation and support the delivery of regional training and inter-region match play, as well as supporting and challenging programme staff on the quality of activity at Regional Player Development Centres.

About you:

You’ll have a track record of successfully supporting the development of U10 to U14 performance players, with in-depth coaching expertise to engage and inspire talented junior players. You’ll have an understanding of how to identify talented young players as well as being able to create fun and inspiring development environments. You will also possess the communications skills required to build strong and effective working relationships with players, parents, coaches and centre operators.

About the team:

Our vision is to make Great Britain one of the most respected nations in the world for player development. Our Player Pathway is a strategic approach providing future potential champions a clear route for progression, from Mini Red to major tournament success. The Player Pathway delivers programmes at each stage of the journey, to ensure that the right players are training in the right environment, with the right coaching support.

Our people:

We thought you may like to hear directly from our colleagues within the Performance team what they think about working at the LTA.

As an organisation, the LTA fosters a hugely positive work environment that encourages and rewards, innovation, initiative, diligence and hard work. Being part of the high performance team is an exciting place to be, as we get to work on the front-line in order to enhance the game for our players, their coaches, and their families. All of which means we can have a direct and real impact on and how young players are developed, and the way tennis is played across Britain’. – Ian our Head of National Performance Pathway

The LTA has been my employer since 2010 and I’m incredibly proud to work for British Tennis. In that time I have had the opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary team of highly motivated and committed practitioners who, on a daily basis, live the organisation’s values of teamwork, excellence, integrity and passion. With the launch of the new Player Pathway, I feel that this is an incredibly exciting time to join the LTA and contribute to the development of Britain’s best juniors and help us fulfil our mission to deliver a pathway for British Tennis Champions that nurtures people, teams and leaders.” Martin our U14 Regional and Lead National Age-Group Coach

Our Location:

This is a mobile role, and although you will be aligned to London and the South East region, spending time visiting key venues, the role requires some attendance at national competitions. Given this is a mobile role you will need to be able to accommodate a flexible working pattern (evenings and weekends will be required) to meet business needs.

Our Culture:

We offer a competitive benefits package and a positive culture underpinned by our values (Passion, Teamwork, Excellence, and Integrity). We are passionate about our people and take individual needs seriously whether it is a request for flexible working or support with how best to make the most of working at the LTA.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds as we believe a diverse workforce is fundamental to achieving great things – our people make the difference.
