Club Support Manager

Salary: Circa £34,000 per annum plus company car

Location: Home Based

England Athletics is the membership and development body for grassroots athletics and running clubs in England. Our mission is to grow opportunities for everyone to experience athletics and running, to enable them to reach their full potential.

Our sport is growing, it is attracting new participants and we need to ensure we have the capacity to deliver attractive and appropriate experiences for athletes and runners in clubs, groups, competitions and events.

Our member clubs are at the heart of everything that England Athletics does. They all provide different and important athletics and running experiences and are driven by passionate, dedicated volunteers. Like those volunteers, we believe that being part of an organised community makes people more likely to continue in our sport and more likely to return if they drop out. We want to support our member clubs to increase the performance levels of their members, whatever their ability, and to help people achieve their full potential. This will, we believe, ensure all participants in our sport can achieve their goals and will ultimately result in English athletes competing for medals at the highest level. We also know that to maintain a good network of facilities we need more people accessing them more often, creating sustainability and securing their use for Athletics in the future.

The Club Support Manager role will support EA member clubs to be safe, sustainable and successful, so that people of all ages have access to athletics and running opportunities in their local communities that offer high quality experiences and are sustainable longer term.

This role will work strategically as part of a club support team to provide high quality support and guidance that aims to transform and modernise the EA Club Network at a local level, will disseminate and interpret relevant sector wide insights into useable information for member clubs and key local partners and will support member clubs to build long term safe, sustainable and successful structures and high-quality environments for current and new members, and the wider local community. Please Note: it is envisaged that this role will support clubs based in Cumbria & the North East.

This role will play a key role in ensuring the athletics facilities stock can be maintained and preserved in key strategic locations and ensure work in this area is connected to the modernisation programme for member clubs.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and have experience of developing / supporting volunteer led organisations (preferably sports clubs) to become long term sustainable bodies.  An understanding and familiarity of Local Authorities, the Education sector and other key stakeholders in the community sport landscape and experience of organising and managing projects, preferably within a community sport context is required.

The ability to travel and work flexibly is an integral part of the role. The Head Office for England Athletics is in Birmingham, but travel will be required to other parts of the country.

If this is something you feel you have the drive, passion and ability to deliver then we would love to hear from you.
