Audit & Risk Committee Member
Salary: Expenses Paid
British Rowing are seeking to appoint a member to its Audit & Risk Committee. The position is voluntary, that is, unpaid, although reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed. Appointments are made for a period of three years, with the possibility of a second three-year term. The Committee meets four times a year. The principal purposes of the Committee are:
1. To ensure that the provision of financial and other information for the Board and from the Board to the wider membership and other stakeholders is timely and accurate.
2. To ensure British Rowing’s financial policies, procedures and controls are comprehensive and appropriate and ensure that expenditure and financial commitments are properly approved and payments properly authorised.
3. To ensure British Rowing has comprehensive and appropriate governance and risk policies and procedures including the keeping of an appropriate risk register.
To be eligible for appointment as an Audit & Risk Committee member, candidates must be independent. A person may still be deemed to be independent even if they are a member of British Rowing and/or a member of a British Rowing affiliated club.
